Yes, its perfectly fine.
Ignore the people who say no or why would you. I play a shorter shaft in my driver and hit it further than most. Also look at the guys on tour, the average driver shaft length is a little over 44″ yet modern drivers in shops can be up to 46″.
A shorter driver shaft means you are more likely to hit the sweet spot. A shot out the sweet spot at a slightly lower club head speed will go further than a faster club head speed out the toe or heel.
it might be a problem because your driver is supposed to be a longer club then your 3 wood and if you put a 3 wood shaft on your driver you could lose some distance. A similar shaft to that would be a mitsubishi diamana 73 blue which is a shaft meant for a driver
Why would you want to?
All it would do is cause you to hit it shorter.
What you should do is learn to hit your driver with more control
Most people who don’t hit their driver well, but who usually have a reasonable swing…try and hit the driver too hard. This generally means less balance poor tempo and hitting too soon from the top of the swing
The very fact that the driver has a longer shaft will give you the distance
I’ve had heaps of people say to me “Gees I wish I could hit my driver off the Tee as consistently as my 3 wood”
I usually answer this way
“Well as long as you position ball in your stance correctly and tee it at the right height and then swing your Driver with the same tempo and balance as you do your 3 wood and you will!!”
Yeah, it shouldn’t be a problem.
